(2002) Accidentals of the West, the highly-anticipated second record release by multi-instrumentalist David "Goody" Goodrich, is a journey through an Americana music landscape. A departure from his mostly jazz-influenced Failure of the Doping Summit, Accidentals of the West captures the beauty of the Mississippi River and the wild frontier to the west.
Performing all of the instruments on the record (acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, steel guitar, and more), Goodrich melds his jazz-training with the folk and blues tradition to create what is essentially his own American sound.
Fans of Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny's Beyond the Missouri Sky and Bill Frisell's Nashville will find Accidentals of the West a perfect companion.
